Is there Life in Your Womb?
I was recently reading an article posted on AboveRubies.org about a teacher asking her class of about sixty child-bearing ladies if any of them had life in their womb. NO ONE raised their hand!
Why are we not disturbed by this?
As a whole married couples have bought into the lie that blessings are found in the latest automobiles, bigger houses, stuff, stuff, stuff when in reality, what are we left with is emptiness, emptiness, emptiness.
I know an elderly Christian lady who was married, but chose not to have any children. She is now dying and my heart aches for her loneliness. She is being taken care of by home-health care-- these are strangers who do not know anything about her. She has no one who rises to call her blessed like the mother of Proverbs 31. She has told me that, as far as she knew, she could have children, but she chose a career as she is very intelligent. (I am not speaking of ladies who cannot have children here.) Yet, now she does not seem to be as smart as she was once given credit as she is dying alone at the mercy of strangers with no one to love her.
Churches today rarely mention Scriptures that exhort us to view our children are blessings, and that we should receive them as such. As a matter of fact, in the house of God a women, who has let God be sovereign over her womb, is not immune to the jeers of jokers and scoffers, who pity her for her "burdens":
Don't you know what causes that?
Do you live in a shoe?
Are they ALL yours?
Unfortunately, those who criticize are unaware that it is the women who is actively receiving the blessings of the Lord under His sovereign control while their wombs are dry and bare which the Bible considers a curse.
I know this post may be hard to swallow, and if it is may I suggest that it is because we are only able to see children for the responsibility and burdens that they bring, but are blind to the immense blessings that they are and will be to the Kingdom if we raise them up to serve the Lord and share Christ.
Let us meditate on these Scriptures and receive what God is trying to share with us that we reject.
Gen 49:25 [Even] by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
Psa 127:3 Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.

Spring Break?!?
I need to take a minute to share a secret that I wish others knew. I am not trying to brag, but rather expose something that too few of us know.
My kids do not want to take a Spring Break. It is true! We talked about it and they both said they want to press forward with math and they would read and play their instruments anyway. Though they did not mention it, I think they feel very secure in their daily routine which is another reason they do not want to break it. They are with us all of time, so if the purpose of the break is to spend time as family, well... it is a non-issue here and we should not think that acceptable. Family is the backbone of Christ's ministry and if you have to take time off of what you regularly do to have time for Christ's ministry something is not right. Yes, my husband is away when he is a work, but he is working on behalf of the family and the children and I are here at home working on behalf of the family. EVERYTHING we do is a family operation centered around our home.
They love to learn and do not feel it a worthwhile day unless they are engaged with science, literature, expression through writing, music and so on. Reading, writing and ciphering are play tools that help us enjoy a playground of adventure that the Lord has given us.
If they were in a school situation, I would guess that this would not be so. They WOULD desire a break from the hoopla of what is called "education", that is not any such thing. Real education springs from a true joy of learning. It does not require rewards, bribes or recognition. The reward is the joy that comes from new understanding of the world God has given us, and it is enough to entice us further.
I am so thankful that our children experience true pleasure from being educated. Learning has become our lifestyle, it is who we are. We are learners. Just as we are Christians or we are women. We do not take a break from being Christians do we? or from being women? I should hope not!!!Why would they want to take a break from something that builds them and make them feel deeply satisfied and now is who the are... true learners.
Again ya'll (southern girl talk to emphasize I am serious), my husband and I are not college graduates and we did not enjoy school, yet through our adventure of relaxed homeschooling, though we despise school, we have learned to love learning. Our children are thriving well beyond us. They have out learned us by miles with no end in sight.
If you are reading this, you really need to consider this option for your family.

Who Needs Welfare When We Have Walgreens!?!?!
Yes! I am bragging because I got ALL THIS for just over $3! It was not hard, but it did take a little investment of my time and attention to plan out these deals. TWO boxes of FiberOne, TWO packs of paperplates, TWO packs of batteries, One Wal-Zyr, one Extra Strength Headach relief, one shampoo, THREE boxes of ziploc baggies, FOUR boxes of Ritz crackers, one tube of Colgate and TWO bags of Jelly Beans to be saved for Easter... I think it well worth my time.
